Sugar-Free Whole-Berry Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon ThickenThin not/Sugar thickener
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
-
Sweetener equivalent to 1/2 cup sugar, or to taste
Directions
Makes generous 1/2 cup sauce.
1. Put water in a small pot and bring to a boil.
2. Remove from heat and add ThickenThin not/Sugar thickener, cranberries, and zest.
3. Return to heat and simmer until berries pop open - about 10-15 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and allow sauce to cool.
5. Add sweetener. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
NOTES: Sugar-free cranberry sauce will not keep as long as the high-sugar kind because sugar acts as a preservative. However, if refrigerated, it will last at least a week, usually more.
