low-carb, Sugar-free Cream Cheese Frosting
This unusual frosting is great for when you want something that tastes slightly less sweet. It is lower calorie than our buttercream frosting, and incredibly low in carbohydrates.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ThickenThin not/Sugar thickener

Sweetener equivalent to 1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
Directions
Makes 1 generous cup, approx 16 servings.
Preheat oven to 325°F, and line a large baking pan with oiled foil.
1. Bring cream cheese and butter to room temperature.
2. Using an electric mixer, combine cream cheese, butter and remaining ingredients.
3. Whisk on medium speed until well blended.
4. If mixture is too soft, let cool slightly in the refrigerator before using.
Variations: Add 2 tablespoons sieved cocoa powder for chocolate frosting, or use different flavorings in place of vanilla, for example, lemon, and a few drops of yellow coloring.
